The PS3 is only now reaching its potential,as is evident by the ever-changing benchmark that Sony's devs are setting.
The XMB is inherently simple and easy to navigate unless one intentionally makes it cumbersome and difficult....which has happened.

Everything bad imo,is mundane shoot,kill,repeat mechanics in maps hardly bigger than a football field.

I should have downloaded it when I had originally intended to.
Either way,I can't ignore the praise it is receiving, especially from veteran tactical shooter players on my friends list.
I took a nice long break from the shooting gallery and now I am ready to return.

My concern is this; Is there any real exploration and character development?.Any real side quests for elusive gear/summons or is it extremely linear?.I am still likely to pick it up day one but my anticipation has diminished significantly in past weeks.I hope I am being foolish.
The visuals can be whatever as long as the core gameplay is solid and interesting.

It was designed as a close quarters- counter ops rifle with minimization of casualties in mind.A shotgun is preferable but with a 'shotty' comes certain considerations.War time considerations.

The 5.56 round is a high velocity low penetration round.Lots of brass and little lead.It is the 223.,widely used for varmint hunting /killing.
In time the the U.S will abandon it(the 7.62 NATO round was superior) and probably opt for a heavier round.
The AK fires a heavier bullet but with that comes reduced accuracy and range in favor of increased stopping power and penetration values.
A likely middle ground is ideal,yet unproven entirely.
